Oregon AFSCME to March in 2010 Pride Parade June 20th

By admin / On / In Local 88, Political Action

Oregon AFSCME will be marching, for the first time, in this year’s 2010 Pride Parade.  With a substantial number of our union brothers and sisters being members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer communities, we march with them in support.  Just as we have supported and continue to support our Latino, African-American, Asian-American, Native, and other communities who make the diverse, strong fabric of our union, we march on June 20th in solidarity with our GLBT members.

“The mission of Pride Northwest, Inc. is to encourage and celebrate the positive diversity of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer communities, and to assist in the education of all people through the development of activities that showcase the history, accomplishments, and talents of these communities.”

The date is June 20, and AFSCME members will be gathering around 10 AM for an 11:30 AM parade start.

Location: NW Glisan and 11th Avenue (Click for map)
Time: 11 AM!  Don’t be late!
