Our annual Labor Day Picnic is coming up on Monday, September 3rd at Oaks Park, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. This is a fun, family-friendly event and all members are invited to attend (represented employees who are not currently members–Fair Share–can sign a yellow membership card at the event). Bring your friends or families for a fun day in the park! Ask for the AFSCME area, and then look for the AFSCME Local 88 sign-in table when you arrive.
FOOD: BBQ lunch is provided for members and their families/guests. Each member can have up to 7 meal tickets (including themselves and their families/guests).
DRINKS: Each member will be able to receive drink tickets for up to 7 individuals. Adults get 3 drink tickets and children get 1 drink ticket. Additional drink tickets can be purchased for 50 cents each.
RIDE BRACELETS: Each member is eligible for up to 3 all-day ride bracelets. This is a reduction from the 5 bracelets that were given out in past years. We have only purchased 600 total ride bracelets this year, so please plan accordingly and try to arrive early. Additional ride bracelets can be purchased from Oaks Park.
PARKING/TRANSPORTATION: Remember to arrive early due to heavy traffic. Biking down the Spring Water Trail to Oaks Park is the best way to avoid the parking challenges. The Oregon Pacific Railroad Shuttle Train will also transport people ($3 per person round trip) to and from Oaks Park from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Parking will be available at the Portland Opera, 211 SE Caruthers St., and in the vicinity of SE Ivon and 4th Street.
