Morning Workshop:
Conflict Resolution & Problem-solving for Stewards
Communication skills in conflict situations are critical to being an effective union representative.  This highly-interactive workshop is designed specifically for union stewards and representatives.  You will be able to assess your preferred individual conflict management style, learn to flex your approach in difficult conversations, strengthen your communication skills, and be able to identify the emotional core concerns that underlie every interaction between union members, co-workers, and management.

Afternoon Workshop:
New Challenges for Stewards: Advocating Across Generations
For the first time in history, there are four distinct generations in the workforce, eachwith different expectations, traits, characteristics, values, and work styles. This workshop is designed to help you, as the steward, meet the challenges of understanding how and why these differences manifest in the workplace today. In this challenging, exciting, and just plain fun workshop, stewards will develop skills and insights that will help to understand why you may be encountering generational conflicts in the workplace, how to address those conflicts, and how you can use this knowledge and understanding to enhance your organization and the collective bargaining process.
