Wow. What a response! At last count, 13,651 people have signed the Save KPOJ petition, and 4762 people have joined the movement on Facebook.
Here’s what you can do right now: Help us keep growing. Help us keep up the momentum.Forward this email to your friends and ask them to sign the petition at SaveKPOJ.com. Share the Save KPOJ petition with your friends on Facebook and Twitter.
Thank you for signing on to our campaign. I can’t remember when I last saw such extraordinary surge of grassroots enthusiasm.
Not only that, but the Save KPOJ campaign has been endorsed by Senator Ron Wyden, Senator Jeff Merkley, and Representatives Peter DeFazio, Earl Blumenauer, Suzanne Bonamici, and Kurt Schrader. The Multnomah County and Marion County Democratic Parties have endorsed the campaign. And the Oregon AFL-CIO has endorsed Save KPOJ and dedicated staff to help us win this fight.
These endorsements happened because of you. Because you stepped up and made yourself heard. When the people lead, leaders will follow!
So, what’s the next step? We’re working on finding pressure points at Clear Channel, at the FCC, and among the Congressional oversight committees. There also seems to be interest from some investors in launching a new progressive talk radio station in Portland. Stay tuned.
Whether KPOJ comes back, or whether we launch a new progressive station in Portland, we can win this fight.
