Bargaining Update #13
This week our Bargaining Team spent the day working on Counter-Proposals. We made a lot of progress and are ready for our next bargaining session with the County on May 15th.
At this point, all opening proposals have been made by each bargaining team. One of our priorities as a Bargaining Team is to maintain an open and transparent bargaining process to our members. All of our Unions proposals, and Managements proposals, are available to see on our website by clicking this link: Bargaining proposals.
We’re also happy to report that two of our union’s “sub-locals” have begun bargaining their new contracts. We stand with the Physicians and Pharmacists as they bargain their contracts and will continue to support them and demonstrate our solidarity as one strong union.
How we build strength and win:
We’re launching a new action around our fight for a living wage standard. We’re circulating and collecting green post-it notes for you to answer: “What would a living wage mean to you?” -or- “What does a living wage mean to you”?. As soon as we began this new action we saw what this would mean to our members, such as:
- “Being able to live in the County where we work”
- “Pay for day care”
- “Not live paycheck to paycheck”
- “Fix my care so I can get to work”
And much more…
More info on this action is our website and these will be posted for the County to see.
We’re still wearing green every Thursday while we’re bargaining. You can also update your profile pic and virtual meeting backgrounds here.
These actions are meaningful and they WORK. The more we demonstrate our power and solidarity, the more likely we are to win the contract we deserve.
