Who We Are
Local 88 is the largest employee union in Multnomah County, Oregon. We represent approximately 3,387 members.
At the local level, we are composed of a main local and 4 sub-locals – Multnomah County (L88), Central City Concern (L88-1), Physicians Unit (L88-2), Transition Projects Inc. (L88-3), and Juvenile Custody Services Specialists (L88-6). Each sub-local has it’s own contract but we share the same Leadership team, constitution, and policies.
At the international level, our union is a member of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) and, at the State level, we are one of the 172 locals that make up AFSCME Council 75. We are affiliated with the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO), a national trade union center and the largest federation of unions in the United States.
