Bargaining Update – April 14, 2025

This week we kept it local, we didn’t meet with the County to bargain. Instead, we had an all-day worksession. This update will be much lighter than our others. Even without proposals to share, we still want to keep the consistency and keep employees informed.

Our work session focused on completing our biggest proposals before the April 24th deadline. April 24th is the last bargaining session our Union or the County can share proposals across the table.

This was our moment to start putting hard numbers together for our economic proposals. While we can’t specifically say which ones until they’re sent across the table, we’re proud to say we’re pushing the most competitive and equitable offers possible for our employees.

Member Action:

During our outreach and listening sessions, we heard from you your concerns about layoffs. We are calling on Multnomah County Leadership to STOP THE LAYOFFSJoin members and sign the petition.

Did You Know?

Clackamas County Employees’ Association voted to ratify their new contract! 90% of its members voted to authorize a strike on April 4th, but won without a work stoppage! It goes to show a united front can be what scares employers the most. They won huge gains with a retroactive Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) their County swore it wouldn’t budge on. Congratulations on the ratification, CCEA! Local 88 stands in solidarity with you & all our Union siblings flexing their labor rights!

We’ll be back at the table next week to meet with the County. If you want to watch us bargain, sign up to be a Bargaining Observer! Follow us on Facebook and Instagram

Stay green, everyone.
