I am writing to you to announce we will be participating in the Labor Day Picnic at Oaks Park this year on Monday, September 7th, 2026.
As many of you know, we used to go to Oaks Park every year for the Labor Day Picnic and it was a huge coming together of Labor Unions from all around the area including our local 88 and our other AFSCME siblings in the Portland area.
To attend, we need you to RSVP by Sunday, June 14th as I have to give our number of attendees to Council 75 by 6/15/26. We are buying tickets for Local 88 members and members of their household. Our local will pay $5 for each Local 88 person/ guest attending and Council 75 will subsidize the rest of the costs. You will have 2 options: lunch only OR lunch and a ride bracelet. Please only choose the ride bracelet option if you plan to ride the rides to make sure there are enough bracelets for those who really want them.
Please respond ASAP! We look forward to having a large turnout from Local 88! The event is at Oaks Park and there is limited paid parking on site (attendees responsibility) but there is also public transportation that gets close to the park as well as a bike/ pedestrian trail.
