Hello Local 88 members:
We will be taking nominations at the June 17, 2026 (meeting is virtual and starts at 6:15 pm) General Membership Meeting for the below named position(s). Go to afscmelocal88.org to register for the meeting and find out more about these positions in our constitution and policies.
The following positions for AFSCME Local 88 are currently vacant:
Local 88 Secretary (term ends 2027)
6 Executive Board positions (term ends 2027, all vacant positions now open to any member in good standing since not filled by sector in last election)
2 Trustees (Trustee #2 term ending in 2028 and Trustee #3 term ending 2026 )
8 Delegates (4 officers and 4 members) for AFSCME International convention August 17-21, 2026
You can self nominate or nominate someone else. Any member in good standing can be nominated .
If the nominations are not contested, the person(s) (if present) will be elected by acclamation. If there are more nominees than positions available, there will need to be an election via electronic ballot that will be sent out to all members to your personal email.
We also have proposed administrative changes to our Local 88 constitution that we will present and review at the 6/17/26 membership meeting. If the membership approves, we will also vote to send our amended constitution to the international union for approval. Proposed changes can be found here: https://bit.ly/L88Const
If needed, the voting period will take place noon July 2- noon July 8th, 2026. If you do not have access to a computer or smartphone and need an alternate voting method, you need to contact the Cabinet at 88cabinet@afscmelocal88.org or call/ text 503-857-9225 by June 24, 2026.
