Your union needs your leadership!

AFSCME Local 88 will be accepting nominations at our September 20, 2023, General Membership Meeting to fill the following vacant Local 88 Officer, E-Board and 1 trustee positions. The term for these positions ends in November 2025.  

Our union needs your ideas, talents and yes time to help lead the work of our union to make it even stronger. Consider if you might want to run for one of the positions  below. Maybe you know a co-worker who would be a great leader. Take time to talk with them about why you see them as a union leader.     1. PresidentThis position includes a $400 monthly stipend and 100% of your work time is paid by the county. This position requires a high level of flexibility and responsiveness.
    2. Vice PresidentThis position includes a $400 monthly stipend and up to 25% of your work time is paid by the county. This position requires a high level of flexibility and responsiveness.
    3. TreasurerThis position includes a $400 monthly stipend and up to 25% of your work time is paid by the county. This position requires a high level of flexibility and responsiveness.
    4. SecretaryThis position includes a $400 monthly stipend and up to 25% of your work time is paid by the county. This position requires a high level of flexibility and responsiveness.
    5. Executive board – 21 positions by sector – confirm with Jackie Vitron if constitution is approved for 27 members.  This position includes a $75 monthly stipend and your work time may be paid by the county on a limited basis. This position requires a high level of flexibility and responsiveness.
    6. Trustee – 3 year term – This position includes a $75 monthly stipend and your work time may be paid by the county on a limited basis. A team of three trustees support the treasurer to ensure the financial strength and wellness of AFSCME Local 88.
