2023 Oregon Labor Organizing Summit: Fill out the online interest form by 5/19

The 2023 Oregon Labor Organizing Summit will be held on Wednesday, May 24 at IBEW Local 48 in Portland!

This one-of-a-kind event will feature National AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler as the keynote speaker! The event is hosted by the Oregon AFL-CIO and there are plans for engaging panel discussions, inspiring workshops, and ways for Oregon’s unions to come together and share resources about union organizing. Please note this event is only for union members, leaders, and staff of unions.

The theme of the summit is Our Power, Our Time, Our Movement. Interest in union organizing has spiked in countless industries in Oregon and across the country. Having faced a pandemic and historic inflation, workers are turning towards the labor movement to achieve democracy, dignity and respect in the workplace. NLRB petitions for union elections have spiked and we know that together, we can and MUST take advantage of this moment and grow the Oregon Labor Movement.

AFSCME Local 88 Executive Board has authorized the local to send up to 10 members to this organizing summit and cover lost time. If you are interested, please complete the online interest form by Friday, May 19, 2023 so we can pre-register.

Day of Registration 8:30am-9:30am (space allowing); Summit 9:30pm-3:30pm
